I've been on the hunt for a concert, (I attend quite a few Country/Western events) where the crowd wouldn't be standing in front of me with their arms outstretched holding their phones while filming everything.
Short of going to the opera I figured I found the perfect show, where most of the audience remembered the songs from when they were first introduced in the 60's. Sure enough, there were plenty of walkers and the only cellphones were the flip variety.
In Las Vegas Wednesday night for the Righteous Brother(s) act. It was absolutely great. But, throughout the entire show I couldn't help but think maybe I've been spending too much time on the Triple Crown trail. But this guy Bill Medley, from the tuxedo jacket and starched white shirt to the black jeans and the Lucchese Alligator boots, was a dead ringer for DWayne Lukas!
When he was telling stories between songs, whether it was about being the opening act for the Beatles, or LittleLatinLupeLu, Ghost's Unchained Melody or Top Gun's You've Lost That Lovin Feeling you would've sworn it was Lukas telling a tale about Cat Thief, Winning Colors or Lady's Secret.
Here's a short clip I found of Medley, but remember it's a from a few years back, now at age 77 the comparison to DWL is even more remarkable.

I've found it easier to tear up tickets at 8/1 instead of 8/5.
