I've found it easier to tear up tickets at 8/1 instead of 8/5.

Has anyone read anything about the three big Arlington turf races being televised? I mean, besides on TVG.

That helps a lot, WB. Thanks.
I can get FS2, and have been watching Saratoga racing during the weekends. Glad that the NY-based show is expanding its coverage to include Arlington.
Not so glad that I have to listen to Michelle Yu, but there's always the Mute button.

B & M, imo, is the leading candidate for HOY... and I know lots of people will disagree... but 4 dominating G1 wins, and I would say it’s going to take a damn good horse to beat him (if he gets beat) in the BC Turf. The horse reminds me of his sire - tough, talented and competitive.

It sure looks like Shadai made a very smart investment when they acquired the breeding rights to B&M. He may be one of the best sons Giant's Causeway ever had, and this horse came along near the end of his stud career. Saved the best for last?
I think he stands a very good chance to take the BC Turf, especially since I'm pretty sure Enable isn't going to be defending her crown in the race. And, yes, I would gladly vote him HotY. I haven't seen any other horse, either from our inconsistent 3yo crop or the older horses, who is so dominant in his/her division.
That was a nice win for Valid Point (and the late Scat Daddy) in the Secretariat, but didn't that race used to be 10 furlongs? When did it get shortened to just a mile?

Yeah why is the Secretariat a mile race now? I don't remember hearing anything about it being shortened. I guess to attract Euros since the mile is their "premiere distance".
If I had a vote I would definitely vote BaM for HOTY. There's a mega dirt bias amongst the actual voting base though so it'll probably go to whoever wins the Classic (depending on how the rest of the year goes). It's why Caledonia Road got her championship over Rushing Fall. It's been a while since a turf horse got HOTY. Was Wise Dan the last?
If the Eclipses were right now I wonder who'd get 3yo Colt...
