He's hot and wet there, you'd not see that much pink on him dry. I'm guessing Marshmallow also carried grey from her sire as this colt certainly looks grey as well as W pattern white.Flanders wrote: ↑Sun Aug 04, 2019 1:22 pmHe is a lovely colt. Though I don't find the bottom picture appealing. He is soooo pink. It will be very interesting if he can be even more successful on the track and secure a stud deal.tachyon wrote: ↑Sun Aug 04, 2019 12:05 pmHayayakko(JPN), 2016C. King Kamehameha(JPN) x Marshmallow(JPN) by Kurofune(USA), made history as he won the G3 Leopard Stakes 1800m dirt for 3yos at Niigata on August 4th 2019.

Maybe they meant the only graded dirt race at Nigata?
But there aren't very many in any case...

Conformation-wise, Hayayakko is a handsome horse. I just kind of hate his coloring (sorry
).
They must have to buy sunscreen by the gallon for him.

I imagine being covered in sweat/water at that time of day (lighting) probably causes him to look pinker than he actually is.

Yes, I know that was why he was so pink. But I still don't like it. He looks perfectly fine in the top picture and other pictures I saw of him. It was just kind of shocking to see just how pink white thoroughbreds get. I guess I've never really followed a white thoroughbred.
Here's Hayayakko doing his best Zenyatta.

That was shot before his race...and he still looks like a naked mole rat with grey smudges.

Yeah, get that horse some spray tan.BaroqueAgain1 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 05, 2019 6:06 pmThat was shot before his race...and he still looks like a naked mole rat with grey smudges.![]()
Guess who! It's Adaaj (Violence x Sari/Cozzene) working at Saratoga! Shadwell bought him as a yearling.

Anyone know the pedigree on Tosen Cookie?

Tosen Homareboshi x Madre Bonita, by Jungle Pocket.
When you search his name on JBIS, he comes up as an unnamed horse. So I guess his name is "in the system" but also not really somehow.
Names probably don't pop up until they begin workouts or run their first race.

Got Stormy has spots all over her head and neck. Does she have them all over her body?

Here's a close-up picture of Got Stormy. You can see a little white spot peaking out from under her saddle cloth.

This dude has a name now! He has been registered as Variegated. To be "variegated" means to vary in color or markings.Mylute wrote: ↑Wed May 22, 2019 9:05 pmThe photographer shared another shot of the 4 y/o paint thoroughbred shown earlier in the thread. She confirms he is the Bah Da Bling x Janine colt. He doesn't have a name yet; the trainer (who must own him) submitted names to the Jockey Club and is letting them pick. The exercise rider in the photo is none other than the trainer and probable owner, Mike Sandoval. Horse looks very stout.
