Omega Perfume is a lovely -looking colt. And yes, how wonderful that the recently passed Swept Overboard should get another grade I winner.

Le Vent Se Leve(JPN) went through an echo test again on Jan 10th.
His owner G1 Thoroughbred Club has made a statement today that JRA Dirt Champion was getting better.
But he will pull out of the G1 February Stakes to make sure.
And he won't be registered for the Dubai World Cup, either.

Let's hope he will come back later this year!
I believe that he has an outstanding talent to contest big races in the US at some point!!!

Good news regarding LVSL. Sure would like to see him come to the States and contest some of the big summer races.

It looks like another star is born on the dirt racing in Japan while the champ LVSL has been sidelined due to minor injury.
His name is Inti(JPN), a 5yo by Came Home(USA)! :D
The lightly-raced horse has extended his win streak to six with an effortless wire-to-wire victory in a G2 today.

Inti looks like a decent colt. Had he run against LVSL prior to that one getting injured?

Inti hasn't met LVSL yet.
The Tokai Stakes was his first test in the stakes company.
He will be pointed to the G1 February Stakes, in which Omega Perfume(JPN)(Swept Overboard) will become his major rival.

I believe that Inti is very good.
His win time yesterday was faster than LVSL's in the Champion Cup run at the same track last year.
It looks like the competiion in the Dirt division in Japan is heating up this year!!! :D :D :D

Does Tokyo racecourse normally play really fast? That Mainichi Okan that Aerolithe won was an exceptionally fast time.

Hi Peep!
Her G2 Mainichi Okan win time 1:44.5 was just 3/10 second off the course record 1:44.2 set by Chosan(JPN)(Dance in the Dark) in the Mainichi Okan 2007, in which Daiwa Major(JPN)(Sunday Silence) was 3rd.

1800m turf record for JRA's major courses are as follow.

Kyoto: 1:43.9 by Grandezza(JPN)(Agnes Tachyon) in 2014
Tokyo: 1:44.2 by Chosan(JPN)(Dance in the Derk) in 2007
Hanshin: 1:44:5 by Curren Mirotic(JPN)(Heart's Cry) in 2013
Nakayama: 1:44.9 by Sakura President(JPN)(Sunday Silence) in 2004

It's known that Tokyo turf plays somewhat faster than the average JRA course.
But I don't think that the track bias on the Mainichi Okan day was extraordinary last year.
I believe that that G2 race was run very strongly and won by the excellent Aerolithe.
Both the 2nd & the 3rd place finishers were also G1 winners.
And her Jockey Joao Moreira commneted after the race, ''I'm sure that she will win a G1 again''.

She loves firm turf.
She prefers left-handed course.
And I would suspect that her last time out Mile championship (12th) was just a throwout.
So..... if the Kurofune(USA) filly is in her top form today after the long travel, she will be hard to beat. ;)
