Just saw Gary West on Fox News "The Story" being interviewed on his take as to what happened in the race. He has already filed an appeal and says that when frame by frame evidence of the race comes out, it will show that WOW caused the infraction and that if MS had physically lost the race, WOW could have been taken down  He also heavily opposes 20 horses being in the race rather than 14. Says Churchill Downs does it that way only because of money. The guy is wreaking of sour grapes and needs to let it go.

I thought they were supposed to be gracious in defeat...

It undoubtedly would have played out that way

Yes, he's bitter about having a Derby win taken away and isn't being terribly gracious about it, but....it's kind of hard to argue with his points about the field size or that CDI is greedy. :P

All the more reason I cant take owners like Gary West seriously when they open their mouths...I mean the guy is threatening to get out of the sport over a DQ...it stinks of more than sour grapes to me, now the guy is just being a plain sore loser...how hard is it to say "we won yes, but my horse made a mistake...we'll get them next time"?

Fast forward to the breeding shed....could've should've didn't win triple crown race(s).
Will that impact his price any?
I've found it easier to tear up tickets at 8/1 instead of 8/5.

maybe West wants to get out the sport because the stewards pick and choose when they want to follow the rules. I mean talk about frustration. I can understand that.

I'm not sure at all that this is what happened here in this case, or anywhere, mainly because there are no consistent 'rules', are there?

Who's laying odds he actually gets out of the sport? True odds = 0%
