enjoyed watching these races again - thanks for posting them!

dear Mine That Bird..... not sure he ever gets enough credit for how he won that Derby of his - that little guy was flying!! - and he was so brave and fearless to go thru that small opening on the rail - then, not only did he win the race - but he most certainly BLEW the doors off of those other horses down the stretch!!!! such fun to see it again!

between his Derby win and watching the great Zen win her Classic, just have to smile seeing those races - (by the way, when she goes around Bird who was trailing in that Classic, I also get a kick out of seeing how small Bird is and how big Zen is.... Bird looks like a little foal next to that big momma Zen!)

anyway.... thanks for posting something uplifting to watch - we need all we can get of that these days.

Andy Serling, a man I follow on Twitter, has been posting some of these great races on his account. They have brought back so many wonderful memories and breath taking moments in this sport which we all love, some of which I had forgotten. I'm not sure if he would mind me stealing the ones he has posted to bring over to here, or if you're on Twitter, go check him out!

Chautaugua was truly something else. When he was on the top of his game, it was so thrilling.

Mine That Bird's win in the Derby still gives me chills. How on earth Borel managed to find that split at the rail at the very end, just bonkers.

Thank you, Carole! I love remembering the horses that I may or may not have forgotten throughout the years, and what drew me to the sport.

I want to start off saying ALL the horses were okay, I made sure before posting it here because I wouldn't have shared otherwise. So when you're stomach goes in knots watching it, just know they all were fine and all raced again numerous times. It has terrible quality too but its a crazy race to watch.

Lots of great races, lots of horses I forgot about. Some are full broadcasts which are pretty neat to watch. What I like is that a lot of the races don't say who won, so its like a memory game if I can remember, the older races are harder. Watching random races has brought back a lot of memories.

So here's a question, who was MC Hammer's Derby horse? I know his venture into thoroughbred racing is remembered most by a favorite of mine, Lite Light. But he had a Derby horse too and his name is escaping me. Technology jumped into my head but I know that isn't right.

Media Plan was on the Derby trail, though he proved to be sprinter. He's still living, last I heard.

This horse definitely ran in the Derby. They did mention Media Plan in one of Lite Light's races I watched recently. I just looked at the 92 Derby that Technology ran in and the horse I was thinking of was Dance Floor. He ran 2nd to Technology in the Florida Derby.
